Mobile APPs

The LNEG Apps aim to make known and explore some of the interesting contents produced by the laboratory in a simple and intuitive way, sharing scientific knowledge and disseminating information of a geological or energy nature.


The mobile applications available on this site were developed within the scope of the Geoportal 2020 project of the National Laboratory for Energy and Geology, IP. They aim to make known and explore some of the interesting contents produced by the laboratory in a simple and intuitive way, sharing scientific knowledge and disseminating information of geological or energy nature.

Geosites

National Inventory of Geological Heritage

 

The National Inventory of Geological Heritage is a new database of geosites located in Portugal, created for scientific, technical, and educational purposes, supporting nature conservation and land-use planning policies. It is an open-access platform, continuously updated.

This inventory results from the merging of previously existing records from the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology and the University of Minho, which, since the beginning of this century, had been developed with different approaches and methodologies. After a process of integration, adaptation, and information update, it was possible to consolidate this repository, which currently includes around 400 geosites.

The development and continuous update of the Inventory rely on the active collaboration of the geological community, ensuring the quality and representativeness of the data.

To facilitate the consultation and visualization of geosites in the field or on mobile devices, a dedicated application has been developed, optimized for small screens and accessible through the QRCode or the link below:
