The Library of LNEG has two main research areas: Energy and Geosciences.

The collection of the LNEG’s library of the Energy area is essentially composed of monographs in the fields of Science and Technology.

The Geosciences area is physically located in Alfragide Campus and in the Laboratory of S. Mamede de Infesta.

The Geoscience collection includes the Library Collection (monographs and periodicals), the Map Collection (maps and aerial photographs), the Technical Collection (technical reports) and the Historical Archives (historical documentation of the XIX century and early XX century on geology and mines). The Geoscience collection covers fields of Geology in general, Mining Engineering, Environment and Archaeology.

ONLINE CONSULTATION

The collection of LNEG’s library consists of:

  • LNEGBASE – Bibliographic database that brings together the documental collection of the LNEG’s Library (areas: Energy and Geosciences);
  • GEODOC – Bibliographic database of the documental collection of the Geosciences area;
  • AHGM – Database of the documental collection of the Geológico-Mineiro Historical Archive, which gathers documentation from the 19th and early 20th centuries;
  • CARTANT – Bibliographic database of Ancient Cartography of the XIX century and early XX century;
  • RELTEC – Bibliographic database containing references to technical reports of geotechnical and geophysical surveys, water catchment and geothermal resources exploration and mining.

ON-SITE CONSULTATION

In-person consultation of documents from the Archives and Library of Alfragide is subject to prior appointment.
Supply of existing articles in documental collection in the areas of Energy and Geology.

 

Alfragide Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm (subject to prior appointment).
Sale of publications: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm Paper Maps and Geoscience editions .
